"We truly enjoyed our stay at Volcano Ranch. It is super convenient to Volano Park, but also a gem unto itself. "We absolutely loved our stay at Mauna Loa Lodge. The entire property is beautiful and peaceful, and it immediately made us feel welcome. The room was spotless and thoughtfully prepared, and all the small touches showed how much care the staff puts into maintaining the place. The tiny garden outside was especially lovely. We felt completely at home during our stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommend!"

Shipman Cove Beach... 2.5 miles from the end of the road to the cove. Great hike through a jungle that leads to a beach covered in lava. The hike then turns into a climb over lava, loose stone and boulders. The cove is a nesting spot for Green Sea Turtles and passing Humpback Whales. We had the cove to ourselves and these guys.

"It was a very clean unit. Comfy bed, and a good kitchen setup. Close to Hilo and the beach park. Very reasonable price to pay for what you get. The road noise was a smidge loud, but fixed that a bit by shoving a towel under the main door. Overall I would recommend."
