It was nice to have our own fire pit to roast S’mores. Some other reviews I read were saying the bathrooms were bad but I really didn’t think so. This property is beautiful and we will definitely be back again. "

"We really enjoyed our stay in one of the cabins at Highlands resort. It was at the tail end of a long road trip and it was probably our favorite stay of the entire trip. The overall setup is just enough for city slickers like us to feel like we're a tad off the beaten path without sacrificing any creature comforts. You basically get all of the amenities of a hotel room in a setting that seems to encourage you to disconnect and unplug. It's super quiet and the fresh air is conducive to a good night's sleep. At the same time, the location is walking distance to the main Guerneville strip and a straight shot from the Armstrong Redwoods Nature preserve - basically the ideal location for staying in Russian River. No complaints with any of the small stuff, either - getting in and out is easy, breakfast is great and fit for purpose, and the staff is friendly and helpful. "
