"In sore need of renovation."

"Unfortunately, we had the smallest room with the smallest bathroom (Margaret Room). Normally we don't complain but the experience did not start out well. The toilet seat was loose and it just got worse in the evening. We should have let management know right away but we didn't expect it to fall off. The bathroom sink is narrow and "sideways". I suggested they remove the 2" frame from the bathroom mirror so we could bend down and rinse our mouths out instead of splashing water up to our faces. The rug underneath the bed was old and curled up along it's length which created a trip hazard. For these reasons, I rated maintenance as Poor. However, management was as accommodating as they could be. I requested a room change but they didn't have one available for the duration of our stay. They had maintenance fix the toilet seat and remove the rug in the morning. They offered a complimentary meal in their restaurant which we didn't accept because we had eaten there the night before (delicious) and we had other plans. Unfortunately, we were already unhappy with the room so we decided to leave a day early. We received a refund. If it wasn't for the room, our experience would have been terrific. The staff were all very professional and helpful and the rest of the room amenities were wonderful. We especially loved the 3rd floor exterior patio. I would recommend a stay but view and select the room; and have a delicious meal in the restaurant."

"This was a wonderful hotel. Other than housekeeping, there was no staff on premises, but that was not an issue. Key codes were provided for entry into the building and hotel room. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location was also very convenient to accessing the shopping & dining withing walking distance. I enjoyed my stay."

"The room was nice overall and decorated well. I'm glad I was on the second floor, since I suspect you would be able to hear creaking from people walking upstairs from the downstairs room. However, this did not impact my rating. This place felt more like an Airbnb. There's no front desk or hotel staff. It's basically just four rooms in a building with a small shared kitchen area. I was perfectly fine with this, though. The check-in and check-out process was very easy, and the communication with the host was good. It's also in a great location, which is just a few minutes' walk from the train station and half a block off of the main strip. The room did not have blackout curtains, which impacted my stay since I had taken a red-eye flight and needed to sleep while it was still light in order to catch up on lost sleep. Of the two windows in the room, one technically had blackout curtains, but since they fell below the air conditioning unit, I had to decide whether to block the light from that window or have the air conditioning on an 85° day. The second window only had a shade that only filtered out about half the light, so a lot of light got through there as well. I deducted one star for this, since I would have expected black-out shades or curtains at any hotel."
