"Staff is very helpful. Parking is convenient, just below the hotel. Walking distance to the Wenhua Night Market and many of the tourist sites. Definitely recommend this to friends and family !! "

"The room is in good shape, clean, tidy and neat. The hotel is modern and well decorated. Hotel staff are nice. However there are some cons. First of all, the laundry system is not not user friendly. It is a wash/dry in one system. at first it took 59 minutes to wash and dry. When the machine finished working, the clothes were still very wet. I had to use dry function again and it took a few hours but still the cloth were damp. Since it was very late and I was very tired, I had to hand up the clothes in the room and hope the air conditioning could help to get them dry the second day. So unless you could stay at that hotel for a few today’s and you definitely need to wash your clothes, don’t use the laundry machine. Secondly l, when I turned off the lights in the room, the light between two beds became a night mode. Unlike most night lights are small and by the bed side at the lower end, this one is very big and to make it worst it flickering. That makes it very hard to fall asleep. "

"Had a really good short stay at Kings Hotel Chiayi. It is located a short 5 mins walk from the train station which is helpful if you were taking the morning Alishan Railway or connecting to any of the other cities. About a 10 min walk from the night market which had plenty of food options. Breakfast was included, nice clean restaurant, plenty of food choices incl. Western. Overall highly recommend if you are passing through Chiayi and looking for a comfortable stay before or after your Alishan trip."

"Loved how big and spacious the room was! 3 people were able to have 3 large suitcases open at the same time and with plenty of room still to walk/sit/lay down if we wanted. Plenty of property seating space as well that isn't just the bed. Staff were very nice and even brought our bags to our room since we checked-in early. The free parking space was a huge plus as we rented a car in Chiayi. Location is a little far from the main city attractions but still very close to a big retail/eating street."

"***DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE ASTHMA***My first room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but the bathroom smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. The next morning my eyes were dried out and my throat and lungs felt terrible. Plus, the air conditioning unit barely worked. It felt like 85 degrees when it was turned down to 60 degrees fahrenheit. It was hot and uncomfortable. The next morning I informed the front desk about the smoke, and they were willing to switch my room, which we did. The next room smelled heavily of cleaners in the morning, so I thought it would be okay, but when I returned in the evening, it also smelled like cigarette smoke. On top of that, the air conditioning unit did not work at all. It was extremely hot since it got up to 93 degrees that day. During the night the room next to mine was up all night long doing something that seemed off. It didn't feel very safe to me. The next morning when I went to check out, I let them know that that room smelled like smoke as well. They did not seem to care at all since I was leaving. The location is really convenient, but I will never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. There is a $300 dollar fine for smoking, but they do not seem to enforce it."
