Staff was super helpful during a late night check in. Room was clean. Bedding and towel were clean. Lockers are a bit small for storing my larger laptop. Price was great for what I got. Highly recommend.
This was such a great experience! My roommate was really interesting to the point where I think we will be friends going forward. The staff was very helpful and did everything to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. For anyone looking for a safe, lively place to stay that's near everything, I highly recommend Duo Housing!
I don't like this place; it's one of the cheapest options you'll find in the area, but if you can spend about $10 more, avoid this place and choose the other option. Here the bathrooms smell like pee, you can't wear shoes inside meaning you have to step in pee to use the bathroom or brush your teeth, the place is generally clean, it just smells bad everywhere. So if you have enough money to avoid it, I recommend it. The good thing is the location; it's close to public transport stations and bike rentals.
The staff and amenities were mostly accommodating during my visit. The only two amenities that could be better are the towels for showering and coffee cups. When I was going to take a shower at 9:00am during my visit there were no towels ready. 9:00am is a popular time to shower; therefore, I would like to always ensure there is a towel available for each guests in the morning. Also, bring your own shampoo and soap for showering since they do not provide any. As for the coffee cups I was leaving at 10:00am and they only had mugs to drink coffee out of. Many people leave the hostel as soon as they wake up, so having to-go cups is recommended.

Very convenient and close to the union station on foot. Staffs are accomodating to the guest's needs.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Duo Housing Hostel
Check-in was prompt and perfectly on time. The reception staff was super nice and incredibly helpful — she even gave me a full tour since it’s a pretty big place. And right away, I could tell this hostel has serious advantages over many hotels.
Just the night before, I had paid more than double to stay at an Econo Lodge… and the amenities here blow that away. Duo Housing has a full computer lab, a spacious kitchen with real appliances — full stove, pots, pans, silverware, plates, a coffee maker — everything you need to make your own fresh meals. There’s also a beautiful rooftop patio with a great view.
The location couldn’t be better. Right near downtown Washington, D.C., it’s surrounded by food options, grocery stores, banks, and restaurants — basically everything you could need within walking distance.
The other guests were all super friendly, too! One girl even made a sesame oil cabbage salad for everyone, and the staff cooked breakfast pancakes for us in the morning. You can’t beat that community feeling.
I give my experience here a full 5 stars and would absolutely stay again. Bravo, Duo Housing Hostel — keep up the amazing work!
This was a fairly standard hostel and suitable if you just need a place to sleep and don't mind the shared dorms. As a woman traveling solo, I felt reasonably safe. The location is convenient for getting around the city.
Honestly it should of been better with the stuff around it but, having barely and hot water and doing lots of climbing sucks but the breakfast is good and the staff were amazing
everything was good except the lack of airflow in the sleeping area that made it almost impossible to sleep in, and resulted in everyone flocking to the communal spaces for relief. It was hotter in that area than outside. If you come here, bring a portable fan, without it I would not have been able to sleep here.
besides that, it was great!! and the breakfast was delicious!
I had lost hope in finding somewhere clean, friendly, professional, and chill but then, I tried duo housing and it was the best thing I could have found. I don't know all the staffs name but, Simone, Yasmin, are the kindest young women ever! The manager was on point when my reservation was messed up, it wasn't their fault or mines but they accommodated me anyways, another young lady made sure my new reservation was correct when I made it in from work, and all of the guest have been kind, quiet, friendly, and mindful of personal space. No fights, arguments or stressful situations. Great place to stay 10/10!!!!!!!!!!

This should be a $20 hostel max…. I stayed at a Hostel in the heart of downtown New Orleans (2 min walk from Bourbon st) and the middle of downtown Denver for $30 each after taxes and fees.
There’s no privacy curtain for the bunks, there’s no outlets for the bunks and there’s no lockers that will fit a small or regular size backpack. The other hostels had very spacious lockers, privacy curtains on the bunks and an outlets at each bunk and they were a 3rd of the price, those hostels were much more modern and nice inside too. Also there’s a huge window in the room I was staying in right next to the hallway and the light stayed on all night in the hallway so it was hard to sleep.
The luggage storage was a little sketchy, every just leaves all their bags in one area and hopes no one steals anything, there’s a camera pointed at the bags but that only does so much.
The staff was super nice and friendly, I have no complaints about the staff at all! My frustration is with the price and how little comes with it. It’s way over priced and it’s one of the worst hostels I’ve stayed at. Again, not the staffs fault but just a very overpriced place for no reasonably sized lockers, in comfy beds, no privacy curtains on the beds, no outlets by the beds and weird shower situations.
Also I was overcharged $10 for some reason. It was supposed to be $69 with fees and tax included and my card was charged $79.

The bed was so-so, but the staff were friendly and available anytime.
The breakfast was simply pancakes and coffee/lemonade.
However, the location was superb.
