"What a gem of a Property - absolutely perfect We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly return again. You do need a car to be able to get out and about and explore the lovely area, we managed to get to Truro (Healeys Cider Farm)/Perranporth, Boscastle and Instow (perfect for our dogs, who enjoyed the run on the beach) and all within about an hour away and then you come back to a very comfortable property, at the end of your day to relax and unwind. "Enjoyed our stay, food was decent pub grub nothing spectacular but decent enough. Was told by bar girl I couldn’t start a tab (even though I showed my room key) but our friends did? Had to ask to be served at the bar as was not acknowledged by 3 staff behind the bar. Customer service definitely needs improvement."

"Very nice hotel but more suited to connoisseurs of food ,which was exceptional with prices to match. With only the al a carte menu I’m not sure it suit the average holiday maker unless eating out elsewhere most days. I spent over £350 for six evening dinners excluding wine. Sometimes after a days walking you just want steak and chips not a very prettily decorated plate as tasty as it maybe it’s not going to satisfy your hunger. I’m not knocking the food it was absolutely delicious but every night with no wholesome alternatives? Not for everyone. Save it for your 50th anniversary not a base camp for exploring Devon."

"The inn appears to be the centre of the community, can get busy in the evening, but it is good to see it thrive. Room clean and spacious. Food great, staff friendly and helpful. There appears to be a little work in progress at the moment. There is limited parking at the property but lots of free space at the memorial hall a five minute walk away. Shops can be found nearby at Yelverton or there is the market town of Tavistock. Beautiful dartmoor is also close by."
