My room was in the coach house, just outside tje doors of the main building. It was very clean with just baked biscuits and Tregothnan tea. A gorgeous view of the garden was welcoming on arrival.
The room was very cosy, clean & tidy. The staff were very polite & very helpful, nothing was too much for them. The hotel was in a quiet area near the road but you couldnt hear the traffic.
If you want a wonderful pampered stay with excellent food, service, and superior furnishings then this is the stay for you. It was comfortable and tasteful in every aspect.
We absolutely loved it here
Little fly fishing break for hubby.
Lovely room with all the facilities, except a telly; this was a bonus though.
Dinner and breakfast were both excellent.
Will definitely be back for more fishing!
can honestly say this was the loveliest hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff / room/ ambience/location and food were faultless. everything was spotless and all food homemade down to the brown sauce served with breakfast. 100 % happy and looking forward to going back
We absolutely loved this hotel. The decor is beautiful the whole place has a lovely homely, country feel, the staff couldn’t be more helpful and it’s immaculate. Our room was gorgeous with lovely touches like home made biscuits a luxurious bed waiting for us and our dog along with bowls and treats for her. Toiletries were really nice, made with essential oils. Amazing food too and we felt very welcome!
Every person we met in the hotel was extremely friendly, happy, helpful and welcoming. We were looked after so well by everyone, including dealing with allergies in the restaurant. The breakfast was good and the dinner was wonderful (very flexible with the menu). The bed was really comfortable. Even though our rooms were near the road I slept easily with my earplugs. The only slight challenge was turning on the huge rose style shower without getting your hair soaked as we didn't have a shower cap.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness
Lumpy bed
The hotel is a bit dated and in need of updating. We booked a king bed and it was very small, maybe a queen. The mattress was poor quality. The curtain and linens smelled musty. The staff in bar and restaurant were lovely and food was good. Overall just average
The staff were very friendly and helpful from reception, breakfast and domestic. Beautiful grounds and lovely shop on site. Only issue was there was a lot of noise from the road.
Fabulous check in experience, actually shown to my room. Room was great, a little tired in places but very clean. The view over the courtyard and countryside was wonderful. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was superb. Worth going back for the chocolate dessert alone! Every single member of staff I had contact with were fantastic, nothing was any trouble. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Hotel closed.
Appalling. Hotel was closed for evening by the time I arrived. After 10 minutes, ad to drive on. I want a refund.
Bit disappointing. Poor internet in some rooms. Bar food was not to my liking. Rooms ok.
Total mess up with my bill and overcharged on breakfast and on total bill. Even overcharged my c/card when they new bill was wrong and caused me some major issues with my business expense claims.
