「Perfect for an over night stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Important things very clean, though corners don't stand up to a close inspection. I had a lovely quiet room at the back - a free upgrade from that booked. Nice breakfast offering. Easy parking, but chargeable on road outside.」

「Hotel well positioned on sea front, good choice of food and well stocked bar. All staff were excellent. Room a reasonable size with good size bathroom. Only one detraction was the room was oh so hot! Admittedly it was an etremely hot couple of days.」

「This 500 year old pub is an absolute delight. Perfectly adapted to modern needs. I can’t remember a hotel stay where the staff were friendlier or more helpful. The accommodation, in the modernised stable block, is perfect for a comfortable stay, and both our evening meal and breakfast were of the highest quality. Strongly recommended.」

「A one night stay for us, before catching an early flight from Southend Airport, lovely attentive staff throughout the hotel. We dined in the restaurant which has great views over the airport, the food was equally great. A veey pleasurable but short stay.」

「Stayed here while going to a friends wedding in the local area. Created to really friendly staff and check in was a breeze. The room was compact but had everything we needed, comfy bed and even a little hamper with slippers, teas coffee and milk. Hotel is above a pub though there’s a separate entrance so coming and going was easy. Would recommend if you’re near by.」

「Beautiful rooms and surroundings. Loved having access to the gym and spa facilities and the breakfast served at the onsite cafe was great value and good! Will definitely plan a return visit.」
