Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price or the Stress
I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel in Toronto with my daughter, and I genuinely wish we had never booked it. From start to finish, the experience was stressful, frustrating, and completely not worth the price.
First of all, just getting into the hotel took almost an hour due to poor traffic flow and confusing directions. Once we arrived, we were immediately hit with an unexpected $75 valet parking charge — no heads-up, no options, just a fee. It felt like a hidden charge they were ready to pounce on.
When we didn’t tip the valet (and honestly, the service didn’t warrant it), the staff’s attitude instantly shifted — eye rolls, dirty looks, and it felt like they were about to toss our car keys at us. Completely unprofessional.
Now the room… It was a disaster. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with an unbearable, foul smell. It was like something rotting had been trapped in there. The carpet was filthy, covered in dust, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. There was visible mold in some areas. I didn’t feel safe, let alone comfortable.
We complained and were moved to another room — only to find that it was somehow worse. At that point, we gave up and left the next day, cutting our stay short. The entire experience felt like we were in a rundown hotel pretending to be luxury.
