Good outside but old inside

The location was good, and the hotel was clean. However, the hotel wouldn't change towels and have room service everyday. In addition, the lobby and outside of the hotel looked good, but the room and the furnitures looked very old.

I have very mixed feelings about my stay here. I called ahead of time and was told my room would be ready for check in early. I drove a considerable distance for them to tell me there were no rooms available yet, leaving me stranded in downtown Toronto for hours. When I called later to see if my room was ready the receptionist was rather curt stating that there are no guarantees rooms will be ready early, that is all fine except that’s not what I was told originally. The room itself was fine, nothing exciting and no tv but worked for what I needed. The bathroom was pretty dirty with hair in the drain and shower still. Then the wifi stopped working in the early morning when I had to get up to study for an exam which was problematic as there is no front desk throughout the night into the morning. Breakfast was definitely the highlight of my stay it was great with a little bit of everything.

My stay at the Chestnut Residence was amazing! We had ac in our room working perfect! The staff was so polite and helpful! They also keep your baggage with them after you checkout! 10/10 stay for a first time!!!! I will be back for sure.

For some reason there were no plugs for either the sink or the bathtub. However, the water pressure in the shower was amazing! I had to do some searching to find an outlet to plug my phone in, but otherwise everything was great. Breakfast, cafeteria style was delicious and plentiful.

Ideal area, nice view, staff was very welcoming and easy communication, older looking room, nothing fancy, but despite the look, the bed was incredibly comfortable. I will definitely be looking to stay here in the future for easy affordable stays in downtown

Room is basic but functional and very quiet! Many options at the buffet breakfast which is included in the price. Excellent location close to the University of Toronto, and just a couple of blocks from St. Patrick subway station.

It was an affordable option in a great location. I felt safe and it was easy to go. many places in the city. The building is quite old and there was barely any water pressure in the shower, which was annoying, but other than that, it was fine.
