It was very clean and easy to check in. Managa selection was kinda small with a lot of slice of life and romance in the womens section
The hotel needs to be more clear on its rules about food and drink. Several sources in the hotel told me different things about what I can and cannot bring into the hotel. But the beds were comfy. Wish there was more of a variety of English manga.
I am 6ft and was able to fit in without my toes touching the wall. Just watch your head if you have the bottom capsule. But very clean and quiet a fun experience I would do again.
This was my first hostel experience in Japan and was very pleased with the experience. It was a unique experience in that there was a wide selectio of Manga to read, and the beds were separate from everyone else's, unlike other hostels where the beds are usually bunk beds. The pods were spacious and felt quite homely. The shower/wash rooms were nice and clean and towels were regularly cleaned and provided for use every day. I have no negative things to say about the hostel, but I would just say that the area surrounding is quite quiet, so if you're looking for things to do/places to go, you'll need to go at least a couple of subway stops away. The nearest station is less than a 5 minute walk away, however, so this is fine. Would stay here again.
Location is good. Close to the Tokyo station and other subway stations. Tens of restaurants and convenient stores around there. The space in the domitory is too small. I'm a 158cm female. I was barely able to change my clothes by bumping my head several times. No fridge, no washing machine. I dk about staff. No greeting. Poor communication in my impression. But if you are there just for Manga, it shouldn't be a problem.

The themeing was as it is shown and my daughter loved that part about it. As far as accomodations, the beds were as good as we had had anywhere else in Japan, so not bad. Bedding was good. Now the down side. We got there around 4pm and were given all upper bunks without being asked if that would work. The ladders were straight up and very steep. I was literally unable to climb that ladder. I went to the checkin spot and did a video call asking if I could change to one of the multiple open bottom bunks. They told me to contact our travel agency, who I booked through. Eventually, they got back to me saying all the lower bunks were booked, which was not true, because there were unsued bunks the next morning. I feel like the Manga should have asked in one of their emails which bunk we would prefer. I had assumed I would be asked at checkin. Some of the bunks that we had, had fans that promptly shut off from lack of being charged. The bunks are very stuffy when the curtain is closed, so the fans are essential. No vents in the bunks. I was very disappointed with the experience.
I had such a great time at this hotel. The hotel was clean and had incredible. Always friendly and helpful.
While I was staying here and getting ready to leave to my next hotel. I realized I booked the wrong hotel, so I had to add an extra night at the Manga Art Hotel and really flexible with extending my stay.

Very cute, but not the best capsule hotel
Very cute capsule hotel, the manga and design was very cute. It was a small and intimate type of hotel.
Just felt that the facilities compared to other capsule hotels wasn’t that great. There were only 2 showers, one had a broken shower handle. We had to pay for pajamas. The ladders for the upper level beds were very dangerous and a lot of people would fall or hit themselves. Didn’t have a reception but could dial in to speak with someone - the staff member was helpful, but not too sure how I felt about the lack of a human receptionist.

Needs thorough cleaning
Comfortable mattress and bedding. A bit of debris on the sides of the mattress needs to be cleaned. Good location.
White paint a bit worn. Dusty bookshelves and very dusty floor by the balcony. The capsule got hot in the middle of the night despite fan running all night. I greeted two staff members who came into the suite during the day. Both ignored me despite standing in front of me. Both did not look happy to be there. The common barstools and bench table is immediately outside a capsule and adjacent to the entrance to the suite. Very cramped and can get noisy for the nearest capsule dweller.
