The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was a mix up with Expedia and the hotel. (Expedia has suite pictures posted at basic room prices). But the staff was nice enough to give us the suite at the listed price. Room was very clean, close to everything downtown, great restaurants, nice parks, and great view of the lake. Will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean but sparse. Too close to the elevator but a good value for the discounted rate. Definitely not worth the rack rate. We’d stay there again for the discounted rate. The rooftop bar was awesome.

The room was clean but had an off putting odor. There is no coffee maker but a coffee shop downstairs from building 2. I felt like the office staff could have brought us to our room or building. Maybe a golf cart. I don’t know, it was like “park over there somewhere”. There are 3 buildings, you don’t know what room you’re getting. I was supposed to get a room with 2 beds but got 1 king. The check in building has nothing to offer, a couple chairs and a tv. It’s not inviting. Hot tea, something? I don’t know maybe there focus is else where other than customer service. When you call the number they answer maybe half the time.

Fantastic hotel with friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and great amenities. The location was convenient, and the service exceeded expectations. The roof top bar privided a great way to watch the sunset and have some excellent cocktails and food…5stars!!! I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it!

The first night we got literally zero sleep. The toilet in our room was running constantly (that loud hissing/filling sound all night) and the wall-mounted AC unit was dripping water and making a loud rattling/gurgling noise every few minutes. On top of that, the mattress had a massive sag in the middle – it felt like sleeping in a hammock that was about to collapse. We called maintenance first thing in the morning and explained the issues. They said someone would come “right away.” We left for the day assuming it would be fixed while we were out. Came back to the room at 11:00 PM – absolutely nothing had been done. Same running toilet, same leaking noisy AC, same collapsed bed. Called the front desk again and they just said “sorry, maintenance already went home for the night.” No offer of a room change, no apology, no solution. We had to stuff towels under the AC to stop the dripping and wear earplugs just to try and sleep. Second night wasn’t much better. Save yourself the headache and book literally anywhere else. The Citrus Hotel is a hard pass. Management should be ashamed

Messed up our room multiple times, refused to adjust pricing, took no accountability or apologies at all at 1 am into the next morning Would not recommend whatsoever. A pain in the ass to deal with anything to even be a neutral experience let alone a nice one

Clean hotel, very disappointed the roof top bar was closed. I could have booked somewhere else for a lesser price but I choose this one primarily because it's right on the lake with a roof top bar. Nothing in the booking said it doesn't open until Wednesdays. No coffee available in the building, have to get dressed and go across the street to get coffee, very inconvenient!

The staff was wonderful, warm & courteous. The rooftop bar was fun & hanging out at the cigar lounge was nice. Nice setup of different places to go on the premises. The only two things that were an issue was that the mattress needed to be replaced (it kind of caved in towards the middle) & the area leading into one of the bathrooms was missing a transition threshold on the floor. I am sure that the hotel will take the necessary actions to replace both as it was brought to their attention before we checked out.

This area was a unique little enclave unto itself with a view of lake Dora. We were on the 2nd floor of a 4 story during hurricane Debbie. During the night water started coming in to the closet area of our room soaking our clothes. The ceiling was previously water stained and patched, so this wasn’t just because of Debbie. Because this leak has not been corrected is the reason for the poor review. Otherwise it was a nice stay.

Our first room had a leaky mini split unit that drained all over the counter. They moved us rooms and the new room that had an under performing AC. Also sewer smell in the bathroom, shower did not regulate properly Freezing cold or scalding hot and ants crawling all over the bathroom counter. Lots of spider webs on lamp shades and in the corners of both rooms. Will not ever return. Staff was nice though

Mount Dora or bust!

A great find just minutes from Mount Dora. They have three buildings and we stayed in the furthest building from the main building. It was different but we got used to it. We had a balcony and a nice view of the lake. There was breakfast every day. The grounds are very nice. The only ding would be the pool. It needed vacuuming and I asked about that at the front desk, but it wasn’t done during our stay. The hotel is convenient to several restaurants, a nice park, a boardwalk of sorts along the lake, and community that is picturesque. If we ever come back to this area, we would most definitely stay here again
