"喜喜哀楽さんは宇佐美海岸から徒歩2.3分の所にあるゲストハウスで、とっても人柄の良い若いご夫婦さんがオーナーです。フロントは、古道具に囲まれた昭和レトロな空間。壁には、キャンディーズや百恵ちゃんの写真が飾っています。ノスタルジックな雰囲気が落ち着きます。お部屋は、とっても広くて2DKの広さに，なんとお部屋内に温泉付き。これには驚きました。源泉掛け流しの温泉♨️がお部屋にあるなんてスイートルームだと思います。ところどころに，オーナーさんの創意工夫が施されていて使い勝手が良かったです。旅の話し、海の話し（オーナーさんサーファー🏄‍♂️)台湾の話し（奥様台湾の方)ができて楽しかったです。夕方は宇佐美海岸までサンセットを見に行ったり、宇佐美の街中を歩いたりして少しジモティ気分を味わいました。宇佐美はのんびりできて、それが心地良かったです。おひとり様、女子旅、カップル、ファミリー、少人数で楽しむにはもってこいのお宿です。お世話になりました。"

"Kitchen was very well-equipped, with a lovely big fridge. Appreciate the laundry machine available. Older place so a bit worn and dusty in places. Very spacious - yet somewhat awkward for just relaxing in. Single beds were not comfortable so we placed tri-fold mattresses on top. Orange duvet covers not a pleasant material to touch. We could not get hot water in the tub so we're not able to enjoy it! Air conditioning was good! Nice neighborhood. Lovely plants and birds just outside!"

" 小田原旅行でワンちゃんはいないのですが[いぬと海辺]さんに宿泊。小田原駅からは徒歩15分くらいで結構離れており蒲鉾通りの近くにあり海まで徒歩1分で行ける素晴らしい別荘感、今回は平屋プランでしたがリラックスできる素晴らしい施設で大満足の滞在となりました。お風呂は少しコンパクトですがリビング/キッチンは広々として非常に使いやすく、自宅のように快適に過ごせました。何よりベッドの硬さが絶妙で旅の疲れも忘れるほどぐっすりと深く眠れたのが嬉しかったです。もちろん施設全体が清潔に保たれており、細やかな心遣いが感じられました。窓外にはドッグランが広がっており、他の方のワンちゃんに会えるかなあと思っていましたがあいにくの雨で会うことは適わず…でも、この環境は犬連れにとって最高の贅沢だと思うのです。海まで歩いてすぐってロケーションも最高で、朝方に散歩しましたが波打ち際の波の音をバックミュージックにゆったりできました。まさに暮らすように泊まれる、愛犬との旅を心から楽しむための隠れ家のような場所。ぜひまた季節を変えて、今度は連泊で訪れたいと思います。"

"The house was difficult to find and, as mentioned, had a steep hill to walk down. When we entered, it smelled strongly of gas as there were 3 gasoline jars directly inside the door. The smell gave all four of us a headache. Also, it was VERY cold, due to missing windows. The heaters were set at max and we were still very cold. Lastly, the floors are not stable. In the dining room, it felt like we were walking on cardboard, as the floor flexed and moved when we walked. "

"The staff are top notch, and the hotel is right near the Hakone Yumoto line with multiple options for travel that use the Hakone Free Pass. There are many restaurants near. Bathroom was a little dated, but everything was immaculate. Would recommend. "

"Was a good stay and the in room onsen was a bonus. Breakfast and dinner were great though the dinner menu was very similar over the two nights we dined there. Service levels were consistently good though it's odd that they didn't clean our room on the second day. Overall it was a good enjoyable stay. P.S. while the hotel is near Gora station on paper, the walk there is incredibly exhausting with steep stairs and an endless incline. So if you're bringing young ones along, do take note."

The atmosphere perfectly captured the charm of a traditional Japanese inn — peaceful, elegant, and deeply relaxing. The kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast were both incredible — beautifully presented, full of flavor, and a true highlight of our trip. Each dish felt thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients and artistic presentation. We enjoyed both the private onsen and the public baths, which were immaculate and soothing with the surrounding nature views. The private bath experience was especially special — serene, quiet, and rejuvenating after a long day of exploring Hakone. The staff were kind, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Every detail, from the check-in to the evening yukata service, reflected genuine hospitality and care. If you’re looking for an authentic ryokan stay that combines comfort, tradition, and incredible cuisine, Hakone Kowakien Mikawaya Ryokan is perfect. We can’t recommend it enough — it’s an experience we’ll always remember. "
