The staff were amazing - My room Was comfy warm And quiet ( even above the bar ) it felt safe - The shared bathroom Toilets weren’t an issue it felt like you were staying over at someone house - carpeted welcoming I loved it I’d def stay there again - Will say there are two lots of stairs and no lift in case that’s an issue :-) for anyone looking - I struggle with stairs and I would still Stay there :-)

I had a great one night stay at The Darlo Bar in Darlinghurst. The room was the perfect size, the bed was comfortable the facilities were always clean. I was out late on the night I stayed so can't speak for the noise of the downstairs bar at night, but I had no issues with noise during my stay. The team were friendly, helpful took care of my bag whilst I wandered the city on my second day. Would recommend for sure.

A great spot to be in between Darlinghurst and Kings Cross. Only a few minutes walk to Taylor Square or Kings Cross station, and an easy work , bus or train ride to the CBD. Highly recommended. Rooms are in good condition, tasteful and welcoming decor on each floor. Bathrooms also are nicely done. Overall this is a comfortable space to be in. My room did not have a desk or chair, however its easy to work downstairs in the bar or the on street cafe areas. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, know that being above a pub there may be some music / crowd noise beore midnight.

Room smelt very musty throughout my stay (2 nights) even though I kept the window wide open and the heating on to keep the air flow constant. Kettle lid would not close properly and would continue to boil unless switched off at the wall plug. The toilet seat in the largest cubicle was not attached properly which is disappointing as this seat was mildly loose the last time I stayed about 6 weeks earlier. Best not leave any food out as ants are quick to share in the offering I only left the room for an hour before returning to find the ants performing a team attack on pastry concerned. Enjoy staying at the Darlo but starting to worry that house guests are being taken for granted. Have normally been happy with the cleanliness in the past.

The room was nice overall — a bit noisy until midnight, but that’s expected since it’s above a bar. I’d recommend asking for a room not facing the road. The shared bathroom was fine; we hardly saw anyone when we used it. There were a few dogs in the pub, which was tricky for me as I’m allergic, but the owner was lovely and even gave me some ice for my esky as i had food for my son. Parking was super easy with plenty of spots across the road. Great location too — close to Adarligh Harbour and nearby attractions. Overall, a unique experience (probably wouldn’t have booked it if other accommodation was available, but glad we did!)
