「A lovely clean room.....staff were very friendly and helpful...breakfast was fresh and good. Bar was busy with very friendly customers. We traveled down from Scarborough for football v Buxton...after the game the bar was very busy but the home supporters made us very welcom.」

「Had a wonderful 2 night stay here with my partner and my sister . Easy to find , loverly location . Warmly welcomed by there staff . Explained everything we needed to no took us up to our rooms etc . So nice so friendly and approachable . All areas and rooms very clean and tastefully decorated to a high standard . We had a meal in the restaurant the first night which was amazing. From start to finish . Breakfast was equally amazing. . Carnt wait to stay again in the future」

「Hottest day in May on record and the heating was on in my room. After speaking with staff three times and an hour and a half later, I was moved to another room. In spite of the wonderful advert featuring a restaurant I was told no kitchen tonight. Second room was very noisy overlooking the car park which doubles as a camping ground for motor homes, with ten present. No mattress cover and a very dirty mattress. Black mould on the bathroom ceiling which had been painted over but still showed...

「The pub was busy and bustling, yet welcoming. Olivia greeted us, smiling and friendly. She was informative and nothing was too much trouble. She gave a really good first impression of the place Breakfast was excellent (Full English and Eggs Benedict). We were once again served by the lovely Olivia. Our room was small but the bathroom was spacious. Although the view was not one to write home about, the room itself (Room 5) served our needs for one night - very comfortable bed. Fans were provided...

「One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks.」
