Stayed here for several nights while a family member had surgery at Harborview. The hotel is comfortable and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel and rooms are old, and it's a little noisy in the neighborhood. But it was great for what I needed and a reasonable price for Seattle.

OK, so for those of you who aren’t familiar with the bottom of hospital Hill, there are three old hotels (the Sorrento, the Inn at Virginia Mason and the Baroness)- all within half a city block of each other/across the street from each other. The rooms that seem the most outdated are at the Inn and the Baroness. The later of which used to be an apartment complex. If you’re into modern amenities and modern updated furniture none of these hotels are gonna do it for you. I hate to say it, but Wi-Fi it off three places is to be desired as well. If you want nostalgia only moderately overpriced, you’re gonna go to the Sorrento (it’s definitely more upscale ). If you’re on a budget, you’re gonna end up at the baroness or the Inn (but you’re gonna wanna make a trip to Sorrento/Stella for a bite) All that being said, the staff at the front desk and the café and restaurants at the Inn/Baroness (same management) have improved so much over the last three years that they are worth mentioning. I particularly found Dominic the lead front desk agent at the Inn/Baroness to be extremely helpful and was willing to deal with me me asking him to print out documents from my laptop and make copies for me and seemingly one million other things over the course of my stay. The Rho cafe is quaint with solid food and drinks, and a great coffee bar. The best part about being in any of these places is the price versus location. Quiet and safe and easy to get to all the Seattle destinations.

They show a full mini kitchen in the listing, which is not accurate. There is a stove in the room but it is closed off and unusable. Also the check-in procedures are unusual, there was no prior clarification about checking in at the property across the street which felt confusing and uncertain. TV barely had a dozen channels either. As it is right by the hospital, you do hear a lot of ambulance noise too - that one is sort of expected, but forewarning for anyone who sleeps lightly.

Felt like a step back in time to the 1930's! Even the elevator was a classic. Very comfortable, clean, and attractive. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy and convenient parking. Great food across the street and many good options less than a block away. Also, a perfect spot for visiting the adjacent hospital.
