"So funny story... We didn't actually stay here. We had reservations but we got off to a late start to visit UCSB and ended up staying in Santa Barbara for the night. On our drive down from the bay area, my daughter accidentally cancelled our Davis hotel for next weekend instead of cancelling the SLO motel 6. The SLO motel 6 texted me about our room at like 10pm and that's when I realized the mistake. Oops. I called the Motel 6 in SLO and Itzel was so kind about trying to issue a refund (single teacher mom here I don't have extra money lol) and she offered to call the owner and also gave me his email address. He replied early the next day with a yes to the refund! I did have to contact Expedia... They got in touch with the hotel and I got the refund! Even though I didn't stay there, I would highly recommend this hotel because they were so kind and helpful and understanding. Five stars from me! Thank you to Itzel and Mannish for their compassion! If my daughter ends up going up SLO this Motel 6 will be my go to when I visit her!"

"Excellent customer service. We did not use the pool but it looked nice. The breakfast was amazing. We were surprised it was in its own separate building next door. The food options were better than other hotels. Biscuits and gravy, cheese omelettes, and waffles. The hotel is also within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and the Madonna Inn. "

"Property is going for an old-timey vibe, so if that's your thing you might like it. Furniture is dated but room was large and very clean. Bed was on the harder side. Now for my beef...they charge a "resort/amenities" fee, as if this were a resort. It is far from it. Do they give away "free" cookies and coffee and wine? Yes. Does this qualify it as a resort. Absolutely not. This is a slightly enhanced motel/motor inn. Parking should be free, as should the "free" cookies and beverages. "
