Fairly quiet except for the early morning trash trucks and occasional train horns. Loved the idea of daily/ nightly fires but they were pretty smokey. The room was lovely and the gas fireplace was a treat. The staff is exceptional. Convenient walk to the entire downtown area.

This is the most lovely little property with amazing staff! Everything was perfect -- our room, the common areas with fireplaces and a library, the breakfast. The staff was plentiful and very attentive; we particularly loved the constant firebuilder guys and the "S'mores Concierge"! The location is perfect, as well. We were very sorry we only booked one night. We will definitely come back!

Hotel Cheval is spectacular! I stay here with my fiancé every year we come and it’s consistently an amazing spot. The staff are so nice and helpful, the rooms are luxurious, and it’s always wonderful. It is worth the cost! We will only stay here when we come for our annual NYE trip

Pleasant stay

I'd like to give Hotel Cheval a 4.5. Good points: beautiful property, right in the middle of Paso Robles, with s'mores @ night and nice breakfast in the morning. Not as good: there is kind of an odd vibe to the place: extremely expensive for limited amenities ($600+/night) but staff seemed...green. I recommend the property but would only stay there again at a lower rate.
