「The suite we stayed in was so spacious with a lovely view. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly, helpful and really cared about our request for a quiet room. A lady at the reception (sorry didn't get her name) was particularly helpful with our many requests for boat ride to the caves, bus to the old town centre, and train ride to Lagos. There were a couple of good restaurants nearby, we tried the Thai restaurant and also Cantinho do Mar 3 course menu at an unbelievably good...

「Had a really good time there with my family. I actually booked another hotel in Sagres, but with much smaller space and poorer infrastructure. So I cancelled that one, and drove back again to Balaia hotel. Again the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was also an indoor swimming pool nearby. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Not to mention that the price is so attractive. Definitely worth it.」

The one downside to checking in was the timing was quite late at 5pm. however as it’s was only one night, and the complex is huge, I tried to walk to reception twice in the space of 90 minutes upon checking into my room and became completely lost. As a solo traveller, being right at the top of the hill in the back end of nowhere, I didn’t feel the safest throughout the night. 「Other guests are out till late and come back rowdy, shouting, and throwing up! Not something you want to be listening too while you try to sleep! Happens till roughly 5am so make sure you have a little drink to help you sleep 😂 nothing to be expected of considering the bars are out side! The music goes on till late but the rooms quietened down once you close the doors and windows! 」
