「Overall the hotel is ok for what you pay. The room was perfect: large, very clean, quiet, etc; no complaints. However the common areas looked old and with strong smell like someone was smoking (not cigarettes).」

「Had to travel to Oakland for a short notice job interview. Booked Jack London Inn due to having a reasonable price and its distance from the job interview site. Hotel's location is convenient to many nearby tourist attractions and restaurants. Alameda island only a 10 minute walk/ferry ride away. Room itself was decent and reservation included breakfast. Check-in was smooth and front desk clerk was kind enough to loan me a pen for my job interview. Next time I'm in Oakland, will definitely...

「The only drawback is lack of the convenient public transport, otherwise it would be perfect if you drive. Welcoming staffs, clean and large room comparing with hotels in downtown, etc. Although the price is not the cheapest in this area, you'll definitely feel it's worth every penny.」
