"Clean room, friendly staff, good location."

"Before I arrived, I had a phone call regarding some questions and had a lovely conversation with the staff. I was then welcomed in and shown to the desk and then the room. The room was spotless and very comfortable and worth the money. I did not have breakfast or dinner whilst I was there. However, it did look and smell lovely. Overall, I was very happy with the experience provided, and I have already recommended the hotel to others."

"I stayed here for 4 nights in April 2026. The double room i had needed a proper clean. The shower had a lot of scum build up around the edges. The towels smell foisty like they've not been washed hot enough (need to be 60 degrees to kill bacteria). I had to go buy my own towel as the second set of towels I got smelled the same which is not good. The double bed for me as a 6ft2 person was too small and had to sleep diagonal to fit due to the wooden frame (divan beds are better for hotels due to this issue for taller guests). The heating turned off at around 7pm and came back on at 6am. The first night I woke up freezing. There was no way to turn the heating on as its central. I had to go out and buy an electric heater for the other nights. The duvet and pillows could do with changing as they are old and duvet is too thin. I will say the bed sheets were clean though. There was black mould on parts of the ceiling and a hole in the door. The door handle was also loose. This place could be better if they paid attention to some of the details and please at a minimum wash the towels better! Ideally get new ones as these coloured ones looked very dated. I think this place used to be well looked after but its been run down a bit which is a shame."

"We booked 2 double rooms for 2 nights. The check in procedure was all good a the staff very welcoming. We dined at the Resturant on the 1st night and the food was really good. The following morning we had breakfast which we pre ordered the night before which again was very tasty. We left the hotel around 11am to attend a wedding and didn’t return back until after midnight to find both bedrooms hadn’t been cleaned or beds made to our disappoint. Fresh towels had been left on the bed and that was it ! I did mention it the following morning and the lady just said “We are sorry about that” Not great getting into a unmade bed at midnight, for the price we paid I don’t think this is acceptable."

"Lovely rural location and welcome at Reception. Room ready early. Lovely characterful room. Good amenities. Food great but a little on the expensive side. Good Spa facilities. Treatment good choice. Changing rooms felt a bit dated and lockers difficult to operate. Great cooked to order breakfast and great quality. Would stay again."

"The hotel was ideal for us as only 30 minutes or so to Goodwood. Good value accommodation. Very helpful staff and the Restaurant food was first rate. Also worth a mention was the Bar where the staff and clientele were so welcoming it reminded us of the bar in 'Cheers'!"

"The location of this beautiful home is remote. But so worth the find. Guy is so welcoming and also an excellent cook. The rooms are gorgeous - decorated and furnished to a high standard. Very comfortable. I will definately be going back."
