The small doorways gave you a feeling of living in back eras. The staff was always pleasant and eager to please. Lovely big rooms, sitting, bedroom and large bathroom. Right in Guildford town center but wasn't noisy at all. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

A really beautiful hotel in the heart of Guildford. Staff were friendly and showed me to my room. My room (junior suite) was huge, beautifully decorated, clean and so comfortable. Highly recommended.

We stayed during midsummer and a heatwave. They had fans for our room but it was still hot, especially at night. This is an historic building and the location just can’t be beat, as the hotel is right on the high street. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the dining and shopping options, although it was a little noisy at night. Our room was serviced daily with free bottled water and replacement coffee pods. There is no parking so you have to use the local long term parking.

As soon as I walked into the reception, I was greeted to a warm welcome..all of the staff were very kind and friendly..too me they went above and beyond..they made me feel like a super star! The f a u c e t i s l o o s e + l e a k i n g THE SHOWER IS WEAK IN ADDITION, POOR HOUSEKEEPING (FOUND A PIECE OF NAIL CLIPPING FROM PREVOOUS GUEST NEAR THE TOLIET BOWL AFTER TWO DAYS OF HOUSE KEEPING!) Not recommend this hotel, most appliances are nit working. The Only goid thing is the reception man and lady are friendly and nice.

The hotel is steeped in history, which made it so interesting. However the water (possibly due to the age of the building) took around 4-5 minutes to run hot, I found this to be a massive waste. Also although very clean, the carpet in my room appeared to have had a moth infestation so not very pleasant.
