"What an amazing vacation we had. After 5 days most of the staff had become good friends. It was sad to say goodbye to them. The location is stunning too with 180 degree views of 2 beaches. Outside our room we had a monkey highway as each morning 10 monkeys would walk across the vines outside our room. The wildlife are real happy there as we saw sloths, friendly lizards and lots of monkeys. And last but not least, the food was amazing at both restaurants. We cant wait to return!"

You will see monkeys, sloths, iguanas and so many more all over the place! The staff….WOW! They’re all wonderful, helpful, friendly and so personable! They have great suggestions and help to set up tours and provide really good options for things to do in town. The restaurant and bar are a joy to spend time in while eating fantastic food! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond anything you’d normally expect from a resort. Every interaction felt warm, personal, and genuinely caring. The views were breathtaking. Each morning we watched Costa Rica’s beautiful birds soaring right past our balcony with the Pacific shimmering behind them — absolutely stunning and unforgettable. A very special thank you to Roy and Justin. These two truly took care of us in ways we never expected. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help made our stay feel magical. The location is fantastic — close to everything, making it easy to explore the entire area within just a few minutes. The staff also gave great recommendations for tours and local spots. We did the horseback waterfall tour, and it completely blew our minds. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, and the whole experience felt authentic and unforgettable. And the food… wow. The complimentary breakfast was the best we’ve had in all of Costa Rica, and we’ve been here for six weeks! Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We originally booked 5 nights at Layan but ended up staying 10 because they truly spoiled us. The hotel is also spotlessly clean and beds are super comfortable which made the experience even more fantastic. Layan Hotel exceeded every expectation. "
