"Wonderful boutique hotel. Lots of nice amenities. Great front desk and lobby area with cute coffee bar and Aesop lotion mini store. Also nice pieces of indie art. Also love communal area with snacks and drinks for purchase and full shared kitchen and hang out space. Rooms were also well designed for small space. Very comfortable. Also well located next to a local market with great food and drinks. As well as other food and product shops. Walking distance to Hayashi department store, museum of fine art, snail alley and other great places to visit."

"The room was so spacious and clean. The location is really good because there’s a MRT entrance right downstairs and a huge department store across the street. My only personal dislike is the lobby is on the 30th floor. Rooms are above 16th floor as well and the elevators are shared with other office workers in the building so the elevator waits felt slower and always stopped at many floors."

"A Fantastic Stay in the Heart of Tainan! 5/5 We had an absolute blast staying at Provintia Hotel (天下南隅)! Prime Location: The hotel’s location couldn't be more convenient. It’s situated right in the central historic district, just a short walk from Chihkan Tower and surrounded by iconic streets. It makes exploring the best parts of Tainan effortless. Super Helpful Staff: The front desk team was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They were always ready with great local recommendations and went out of their way to make our stay smooth and comfortable. Free Bicycle Rentals: One of the best perks of the hotel is that you can borrow bicycles for free! Riding through Tainan's narrow, charming alleys on two wheels is hands down the funnest way to get around the city. Must-Visit Markets Nearby: If you love local food, you're in for a treat. Don't miss out on exploring the food stalls and bustling traditional markets nearby (like Yongle Market, Shuixian Temple Market, and Guohua Street)—they are packed with mouthwatering Tainan delicacies!"
Shangri-La Far Eastern Tainan

"I stayed at the Shangri-La last night and would like to comment on the level of hospitality I experienced at breakfast this morning. The section I was seated in had three servers: one female server and two young male servers. The female server was working diligently throughout the morning, but unfortunately, the two young male servers appeared tired, moved very slowly, and seemed reluctant to clear empty plates or attend to guests in a timely manner. Good hospitality is not only about responding when asked. Guests should feel that they are being cared for. Empty plates should be cleared proactively, and staff should remain attentive to the needs of the tables they are responsible for. On several occasions, I noticed the two servers looking toward my table and neighboring tables without clearing dishes that had been sitting there for some time. At one point, I called out to one of the servers, who simply walked away without responding. I mentioned my concerns to the female server, who explained that the two young men were new. While I appreciate that everyone needs time to learn, being new should not be an excuse for poor work ethic or inattentiveness. Shangri-La is a world-class hotel brand, and I believe proper training and service standards should be consistently upheld. Just as importantly, staff members should take pride in their work and genuinely want to provide excellent service. I offer these comments respectfully."

"the location is convenient, close to subway and shopping areas. A bottle of soft drink was left on the 7th floor hallway table for over two days and the cleaning team did not take it away. It is very unusual for a 5 stars hotel to see waste items left in the hallway noticed. What I do not like to that when we tried to charged our drink to the room before we left the bar, we were told to pay deposit for drinks before we could charge it to the room. I have never heard about making food deposit to be able to charge to the room. Again, this is very unusual for a 5 star hotel."
