Wonderful stay! I was traveling thru to head north and decided to stop in MB. Chose the Darlington since it’s family run and I was staying by myself. So glad I did. The young man at the front desk was so sweet. Rooms were super clean and cozy. I was made to feel right at home. It was the off-season so not a lot of guests in the motel, but I found that perfect. It was quiet and I was able to relax and enjoy my time alone. They even called me the morning of my arrival to touch base and offer me an early check in. I will definitely be back and bring my family!

Upon checking in I told them that my step brother was going to be with me and if needed would pay for the room if needed more than the 1 night because I wouldn't be around during the day. I received a call from my brother informing me that we were just kicked out because my little sister showed up and had her luggage. She was going to wait until jer room was available where she booked hers at. Never called me, never returned my 2 calls. Something about my step brother being a different color than me ( I didnt like).

Charming family-owned beachfront motel located right on the main strip. It’s an older property, but very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed a beautiful ocean view from our 4th-floor room and would definitely stay here again!

Love love love this place. Stopped in on my way up north and so glad I did. Small family run motel with excellent customer service! Had everything I needed for my quick stay including a small kitchen. Super clean (which is very important to me) and comfy beds. Balcony was great and the ocean view was amazing! Pool looked nice but wasn’t able to try it out this time. They gave me an early checkin and a late checkout, even offered to drive me to the airport :). I love supporting small businesses and the Darlington will be my go to in the future! PS-they have a lot of beach cottages also if you have a larger group. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

The property is well dated. As in old. Office closed right after we checked in around 3pm. Did not have shampoo in the room so had to wait till next morning. Toilet would not flush completely. Toilet tank did not fill enough to properly flush. Had to remove the lid and manually hold down float to fill the tank before each use. Hot water took at least 3 minutes to get hot. Bed mattresses were horrible. Sign on the wall in kitchedette warned of a charge for dirty dishes left after chech. Sink stopper did not hold water in the sink to wash those dishes. If you wanted to sleep in, forget it. The room windows face east and the blinds are inadequate to block the morning sun shining through. Would not recommend this hotel as there are newer properties down the street at better rates.

Nice people, but room repairs needed

The room was clean. The beds were way too firm for us and we didn't sleep too well because of how hard they are. The kitchenette we had was nice to have. We saved some money on breakfasts by eating at the hotel room. We had issues with the toilet tank not filling. When they finally were able to replace the part, it was with one that was the wrong size so the float would be too low and the toilet still didn't flush properly. We also had issues with two outlets not working. Those were tightened and fixed too.

The staff were great and kind. They were able to accomodate a room change without an issue. They have free parking space of their own and is 2 minutes walking distance to the beach. They also provide surfboards upon request. There is also a small pool area behind the hotel with few seating, but there were a lot of folks smoking and making noise. The rooms were spacious and had great amenities, like a stove & oven. Really hospitable people. Definitely plan on coming back to the place if I am ever in the area again.

Perfect Trip Down Memory Lane

We all loved The Darlington! Our room was spotless, the staff welcoming and the location great! This property has quite a selection from our motel room in the newer building to cottages scattered around the property to the original inn rooms. Right at the foot of the boardwalk mean you are near everything right across the street from the beach but with the feeling of lots of open space. It's an easy stroll to lots of restaurants and amusements. They even had a welcome treat pack for our dog. We will be back!

The Inn was close to the beach and we had an Ocean View from the 4th floor room, stairs only, which was nipping clean and very comfortable, we took advantage and had a massive Queen bed each. I apologise that I didn't take the name of the lady who checked us in who was luvvly as was Geoff/Jeff who we dealt with all week, nothing was ever a trouble. Obviously an old building hence needs TLC but I wouldnt hesitae to use again, a little Inn with the personal touch in a great location, oh! Free Parking also.
