「The hotel was well placed for walking into Ilfracombe and the room was comfortable. As it was a large room the bed would be better to have been a king size as opposed to a double. The hotel obviously caters to bus trips and as such the dining was limited to the same, but the food was good and well cooked.」

「Great location minutes away from cafés, pubs and eateries. Funicular virtually next door. Lovely old hotel, clean and full of character though indeed of a little tlc. We were made very welcome and our rooms were upgraded at no extra cost with amazing views across the valley. Very dog friendly and would definitely stay there again. Thank you. 」

「Such a warm welcome. A friendly, comfortable home-from-home in the most beautiful location, right by the beach. We were lucky enough to stay in the family suite which has 2 bedrooms & a bathroom - much nicer than all squeezing into one hotel room! Delicious & very generous breakfast. 「Absolutely great place to stay if you're in Ilfracombe. Backs onto the very pretty harbour area, really good value breakfast and the pub is friendly, great beers but not noisy at all. Our room got a little warm and the mgt instantly upgraded us to a two-room suite opposite and the general service and friendliness of the team who manage the Royal Britannia would be a major reason for going back as well as the beautiful spots immediately around the hotel.
