Really nice little hotel that I would definitely stay again in the area! My room was small (single occupancy) but absolutely did the job. Very clean, comfy bed and modern bathroom with a strong shower - what more can you want?! While I had to checkout before breakfast, the ladies at reception offered me to take some bits and pieces from the prepped fridge before I left which was much appreciated.
We really enjoyed staying at the hotel. We had the attic room as we had booked late in the week and it proved to be very comfortable and great views. Owners are lovely and the breakfasts were delicious. It was your quintessential English hotel. Loved it.
Lovely room and the staff were so helpful. Even the little things like lending a charger after I'd forgotten mine. The breakfast was lovely

Although a little dated, this property was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for a good nights stay. The breakfast was superb and the staff and owners were so friendly and caring. We were going to the theatre in the evening so the location couldn’t have been better (5 minutes to the centre).
We received a warm welcome from our host, and a double upgrade to a spacious and well furnished Superior room with a much appreciated power shower. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and our host very kindly let us keep our bag in the lobby and our car in the car park while we wandered around Barnstaple before leaving in the afternoon for the funeral we travelled to attend.
Excellent stay, clean, comfortable and delicious b
Stopped here overnight whilst walking the South West Coast Path. Very clean and comfortable room with everything I needed after 16 miles of walking and ahead of 20 miles the next day! Lovely period hotel, fabulous sash windows, high ceiling, warm and cosy room, really nice feel to the place. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Extensive breakfast menu, all cooked to order. I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast. Would highly recommend.
The overall experience was good.
Offsite parking is available for a small number of cars but i parked on the bext street. Initial welcome could've been improved as i wasnt given a great deal of information about the hotel, facilities or location of the room. The room was a converted loft area. Small but good amenities. Biscuits and lots of hot drink sachets. Bed was comfy enough. Anyone with a fear of confined spaces may want to try a different room. The room was quiet, no issues there. Some small pointers re: the room - a laminate or folder with wifi, safety and breakfast detail would help. Also, because its a tight shower, a suction shelf for shampoo etc would save bending down in a confined space. Breakfast and the coffee were included and both were great.
