Melbourne City Suites was ideal for a ‘hit and run’ visit to Melbourne. Its position is great to the work I was doing, facilities were all that I needed, it was particularly useful to have access to a washing machine, and there were great local options for dining.

Disappointed with our stay at Melbourne City Suites. We booked for 7 people, and when we arrived there was only bedding for 6 people. When we questioned this at reception they acknowledged that the "room rate was for 7 people" but it would be an extra fee for a rollaway bed. Additionally, I opted for the 'self-check in' in which you are supposed to be sent an email with instructions the day prior. I never received the email, and on the morning of check in, called reception to ask them to resend it, to which they said they would, but again it never came through. Checking in was extremely clunky- Melbourne City Suites operate out of a hotel room within the facilities of another hotel, the reception is in a hotel room on the 8th floor, and was a slow process. There were 4 people in front of us and we were waiting in line for approx 30 minutes. Parking was also an issue. I called prior to booking to booking about the parking situation as it was important for us to book somewhere with parking. They stated they had a car park and to provide the vehicles registration and they will reserve a car park. Upon arrival, the car park (a public car park) was full. I was very fortunate to wait until someone left and I was able to get a park. I just found that saying a 'car park was reserved' for us was extremely misleading. Also, the overnight fee was cheaper than the hotel car park fee, which we had already paid for. Overall the customer service was very disappointing.

The room is spacy & clean, location is so convenient to everything. Only the facility is a bit old, our room's shower head broken and fell off, but the staff moved us to another room fairly quick. Thank you!

New kid on the block. Quite an interesting model they work on. It is 2 Hotels in one building. They let you know ahead of time how things work. The location of the building is great - just a 10 minute walk from Southern Cross Station / Sky Bus Terminal and heaps of dining options around the area. The room is really spacious, extremely clean and the staff is super friendly. They have limited car park spots at the hotel but heaps available 300 mts down the road - very convenient. I should say, very impressed. Well done. Only downside was the weather when we arrived - but cant fauly anyone for that.

Property not near any transport, street barely lit and not a lot of people on the street. But facilities were great. My bathroom hadn’t been cleaned hair and mould in shower and on floor. Cutlery also hadn’t been washed covered in food. Bed was very firm, aircon always cold and not enough blankets. The office hours were terrible for me, changed in after 8pm, waiting till 10am to open there was a long line up of people. I never got to see anyone. If mcs teamed up with mantra they would have a better offer

Sadly the standard of cleanliness was well below acceptable. We had to make four requests for Nespresso coffee capsules before any arrived. The reception staff were pleasant but communications within the hotel were poor. The hotel insists that guests wash dishes upon departure (no dishwasher) consequently we found our dishes next to the rubbish bin under the sink and had to wash them before using. Disappointing.

The room was very dark - there was a window out on to an alley and it was in the bedroom but other than that there were no windows. The booking said that parking was available which is why we chose this accommodation but when we arrived, we were asked if we had reserved parking - the booking does not indicate that it had to be reserved. The desk staff was helpful and found us a parking spot a few blocks away but expected us to walk back from there (in the rain) with our luggage. Clarity in the booking would have helped. She then suggested that that we could pull up in front of the building - a no parking zone - and drop the luggage off . I said i was not going to leave the luggage on the sidewalk in the rain and come back for it - she was kind enough to take it up to our room for us .. but really a little more staff support would have been helpful.
