the rooms were pretty basic ,tea/coffee,fridge,microwave,toaster.good size bathroom and shower,comfortable queen bed,tv,table and chairs.5min walk to bus and 4 stops to train station,10 min walk to dfo.great public transport with bus,tram and train.the staff were really friendly,the place neads good spruce up,if your fussy its probably not for you.price was good considering it was cup week that i stayed.would stay their again if i was in melbourne

It is an older motel. I have stayed there a few times over the years. I saw that it is showing its age and needs a refurbishment. It is okay as a place to sleep. The chain on the door of my room had been removed. The closet was missing a bar (the kind staff member at reception went and found me one). The bar fridge had no shelves inside or on the fridge door. The TV was an older model, the speakers on it weren't delivering the best sound. The staff member I saw was helpful.

Essendon motel is in a great location, just off the Bulla Rd exit. The rooms are quiet, despite being close to the freeway. The blankets/doona are light, so for a cold night we needed to run the heating all night. Recommend bringing extra blankets if you can.

Beds were comfy, water pressure was good but the state of the shower was awful - mould, repair & maintenance of the bathroom is desperately needed. Doors need a good scrub as they were grotty & the entry door handle & lock were quite flimsy. Lots of potential just needs a lot of maintenance.

Lady at the front desk was kind and helpful. Went out of her way when we had a problem with a tour bus not showing up. Was able to get an Uber to meet the tour bus somewhere else and did not miss our tour we planned many months in advance.

Horrible place, unless you're a junkie.

No glass at all in one window frame. Just a flyscreen stickey taped to the frame. Rooms look nothing like the pictures. Beds were all different. Sheets were old and had dirt on them. Bugs throughout the room. Surfaces were not even clean. Carparking was good. Location is withing walking distance to shops. But rooms are not worth more than $50 a night.

1 night stay as had early morning flight so was what we expected for the price. Staff very helpful as needed ground floor room due a disability. Couldn’t find remote for tv and no buttons on unit to turn it on.

While this motel is convenient for being close to major airports, the room left a lot to be desired. The worst features were a number of electrical outlets that were broken and unsafe in the room, and a complete lack of cutlery and only two mugs for hot beverages. Only recommend a stay here if you need quick access to airports prior to a trip away.

Check in and out super easy and lovely receptionist. No food walking distance, only Chinese (which was good). Shower mouldy, very noisy. Woke up to bathroom full of bugs.
