Cedar Creek Inn

8/10 Good

"I searched hotels.com using the "pet friendly" filter, but it found this hotel anyway. There were "no dogs allowed" signs everywhere. But, the man at the desk allowed me to stay with my two small dogs if I paid an extra $60 for the stay. I blame hotels.com. I've had too many times when they steered me to a property that was nothing like what I was searching for. It is a motor lodge on the side of the highway. Nothing fancy. No amenities. Just a room and a parking spot. But it was clean and quiet, and it was reasonably priced."

Towneplace Suites By Marriott Burnet

10/10 Excellent

"The property was really nice. Very new and clean with a bar and a gas powered fire pit outside with chairs to sit and watch the flames. Each room has a full kitchen and it is close to several restaurants. My only complaint was that I wanted to purchase a glass of wine after sitting outside by the fire returning phone calls, and they sent the bar tender home early since there was no one in the bar. I didn't want to go out to the HEB supermarket as I don't see well after dark and I had already had a couple of glasses of wine so I didn't want to chance a DUI. I had to buy a bottle of wine from their very expensive little store for $50 dollars if I wanted another glass. I spoke to the manager on duty about this and felt if the bar says it will be open until 10 PM, they should have had someone available to sell me a glass of wine until that time. I stay at Marriott a lot and have never run across this in any other location."

Oasis Lake Buchanan

8/10 Good

"Def needed the unplug night at the lake. The RV was very clean and nice to stay in. We picked this spot because of the play area, kayaks, and fishing. Something for everyone. When we arrived we quickly noticed how infested this property is of spiders. Kids could not play n the truely amazing play ground, despite us trying to clear it, there were just too many spiders already nestled in. The actual property was beautiful and the water was great, the kids were able to swim right off the dock area. Kayaking was something were excited to do but again, the pile of kayaks was covered in webs and large spiders. I think this small issue would really bring this space to the next level. We still really enjoyed our stay and the rv was stocked of dishes. Linens clean. Good space for guys just wanting to fish in peace but for kids I would opt for another space. Owner was so nice and respectful, he let us check in early so it was a big plus! Thank you for the enjoyable weekend. Very peaceful and beautiful!"
