Great hotel, well connected and the staff can give you really good recommendations, they told us to go to Ramen Spot that was the best ramen we had in Japan
The design and layout of this room was so well thought through - we agreed it was one of our best hotel experiences, especially over 5 nights. Helpful staff, great location, and great facilities and amenities.
Great location with small yet traditional feeling rooms. A comfy lounge with free refreshments, and attentive staff.
Self-service laundry machines is also incredibly welcome
The hotel is in a fantastic location, with a lovely park nearby along with both great quick options for food, as well as proper sit-down restaurants.
Everything walking distance, a clean a quiet haven for us after a long day of exploring. Staff were wonderful and attentive and the cafe downstairs was a real plus.
Stayed in the Moderate room. Room felt smaller due to the large column near the beds. Great location close to a supermarket, train station and food options and bathroom was spacious. Only had 2 washers and dryers which were constantly in use and dryers took quite a while. For breakfast there was 3 sandwich options. Appreciated the guest lounge. Overall a good stay.
The staff was lovely helped you with everything and it has things in your room that helps you out with your trip and it's a good location . It's slap in the middle of Kyoto
Rakuro is in the kind of special location where we would choose to live if we lived in Kyoto. Its concept and setting made us genuinely happy. Being close to the Gyoen National Park and surrounded by many artisanal spots showed us that we had chosen the perfect area. It’s a very calm place, away from tourist crowds. The hotel was clean and well-organized, and the staff were kind and helpful
Location is very convenient as it is right at a train station exit. We drove into town and parking was relatively easy to find near the hotel. Night time parking rate starts 19:00 or 20:00 for most paid parking. The rooms are clean but very small and we have trouble opening more than one luggage. Overall it is a good value hotel at a convenient location unless small Japanese room size concerns you.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
We stayed in Kyoto for 4 nights and we loved the hotel. We had a room with tatami and a little table, where we spent the mornings. In the lobby they had a room with different kind of drinks, including amazing tea and cold water. The whole hotel smelled so good. The people who worked there was helpful, nice and
Family room was a good size for 4 and everything was great, including the bathroom!
The only issue we encountered was the wifi inside our 2nd floor room not working the majority of our stay. It was so annoying when we required it. Spoke to the front desk about it, however we did not experience any improvement for the rest of our 5 night stay. Had to use up data from our eSIMs and the kids had to go hang out in the guest lounge for reliable wifi whenever we had downtime at the hotel.
Would stay here again if the wifi issue is only specific to the room during this stay in.
The hotel was so clean and the staff was super friendly and very helpful. The guest lounge was a very peaceful place to relax and unwind after a busy day. As a bonus the entire hotel smells amazing!
This hotel never disappoints. This is out second time staying here and every time we have a pleasant experience. The rooms are nice. The bus and subway are mins away. Many spots such as dt Kyoto, nishiki market, and the shopping arcades, are walkable. The lounge area is beautifully decorated and peaceful. The roof top patio gives a nice view of Kyoto.
A great hotel in the perfect location.
Near the subway and a short walk to the Nikishi Market, it ticked all the boxes.
The staff were helpful and friendly
We loved our stay at the Rakuro hotel in Kyoto. It is a beautiful space with lovely rooms and peaceful communal spaces. The lounge is a lovely place to sit for a while after a busy day in Kyoto. The staff is kind and helpful as well! We enjoyed breakfast one morning as well. While it was a bit pricey it was nice and filling.
Absolutely incredible stay. The room was beautiful, the staff was kind and accommodating, the facilities were unreal, and two major sightseeing destinations and a train stop were within walking distance. Highly recommend; we splurged for our honeymoon but are now unlikely to stay anywhere else.
Excellent place with convenient public transport connections, terrific staff, great coffee. Really great rooms, awesome bath, and a very slick ground level lounge/drinks area where they make house fragrances. Super impressed with this stay
