The steps to the second floor are steep so it would be tricky for anyone who has difficulty walking. For anyone intimidated by sharing a bathroom or toilet- it was fine. We had no trouble using the facilities whenever we needed them even though the guest house was full. It was a lovely stay. "

"I loved the niche area that it lied in as I was surrounded by so much nature and beauty. It is the perfect area to stay in Kyoto if you want to be surrounded by peace. Especially in the evening/night."

HOTEL ECCLESIA

"This is a no frills hotel, but we really enjoyed our stay. You can hear if you have a heavy walking upstairs neighbor, but throughout the night it was pretty quiet. There are great laundry facilities onsite that were super easy to use and you don’t have to buy detergent. You just download an app and pay and monitor progress through the app—it was great! "

"The room, bathroom, AND the shower are probably the biggest of all the hotels where we’ve stayed in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.
Did not feel cramped whatsoever.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Just a short walk to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. The location is perfect if you plan to visit the surrounding areas there"
