"As my wife and I continued our honeymoon through Scotland—transitioning from the perfection of Melville Castle to the Highlands—we checked into the Inverness Palace Hotel. My breakdown: 5 stars Location, 5 Service, 3 Room. Since the room is the main purpose of a stay, my overall rating is a 3. The positives are undeniable. Looking out over the River Ness provides a stunning 5-star backdrop. Service was commendable; staff were welcoming and when we requested a micro-fridge, it was brought up immediately. However, room comforts fell short. The bed was hard and pillows thin. The shower has a frustrating quirk: turning the knob unavoidably blasts you with sitting cold water due to the showerhead's angle. Soap and shampoo were provided, but we had to request conditioner (happily provided, but odd not to include by default). Unwinding was tough since the TV lacked internet or most common streaming apps or ability to download them. The general hot tub was disappointing, running a forced 10-minutes-on/10-minutes-off cleaning cycle. (The separate spa, however, is great!). Also, beware the lift—the door closed so hard on my shoulder it felt like I got tackled! Our exit was clunky: despite arranging a late checkout, our keys deactivated early. We faced pushback on our departure time, though we suspect a simple language barrier rather than rudeness. Great location and staff, but room comforts hold it back. Ironically, the best AirBnB I've ever stayed at is RIGHT behind them! "

"The Breakfast was your typical buffet, It was Hot and Fresh. Everything was kept clean. The rooms are rather small but adequate. The shower was excellent. It is located close to the train station and the bus station. It was located close to everything , easy walking."

"I was only using the hotel as a base between tours therefore my requirements were very basic. The staff on reception were really friendly and helpful. The rooms I had were fine, a couple were a bit tired but they were clean, had everything I needed and were good value. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Inverness. "

"Avoid avoid avoid..! Room dirty - dust everywhere, old pair of trainers left in the room - ever so slighty smelly. Bathroom terrible - dirty, toilet not flushed from previous guest, floor tiles all cracked , shower enclosure mouldy. No where to hang clothes. Kettle was filthy. Window broken and would not shut properly. TV not working. Breakfast was terrible, no meats or cheese etc for continental breakfast, bread, cereal, poor looking croissants. Exterior of building in serious state 9f disrepair.. apart from that everything else was terrible.. A 'home away from home'... only if you live in a skip..!!"

"This lodging is a converted apartment(s) made into individual hotel rooms. There is a shared kitchen with full size refrigerator and freezer and couches and a dining space. I brought a silicone ice tray that I was able to put in the freezer so I had Icewater in my water bottles. The room was nice and the bathroom new and modern. The carpeting was a plush type residential carpet that was very soft. The location is great, right in the middle of city center. Everyplace I needed to go to was within a half mile walk. It can be a bit noisy on Saturday night with a few bars across the street but I brought ear plugs after seeing another review and it was fine. Be aware that the rooms are not handicap accessible. The first floor rooms are actually on what would be called the second floor in the states so you will have to climb at least one set of stairs. If you stay on the “2nd floor” you actually have two sets of stairs to go up. Also there are no staff at the hotel. You get a code for the main front door on the ground level and a code for your individual room. A change of towels appeared by my door on the second day. I would stay there again. I loved Inverness so much and enjoyed it so much more than Edinburgh. Everything is so peaceful without the huge crowds in the larger cities. I can’t wait to come back. "
