I love to stay at the Bush House Inn while traveling along Highway 2. Index is a really wonderful place with amazing history and you’ll wake up surrounded by mountains and the Index Wall. The Inn has charming rooms with very comfortable beds and linens. This is an experience for people who want to stay in a beautifully renovated historic building and enjoy a quiet and calm atmosphere. They do have an elevator on site to the second floor. The second floor great room is a community space with comfy leather sofa seating and a television but it’s also a wonderful space for reading or playing games or puzzles. There is an upper level sun deck and a wonderful front porch as additional relaxing spaces. The restaurant offers a wonderful Northwest selection for every palate and there is a bar and coffee shop (serves breakfast pastries and hot items) on site, as well. The shared bathrooms are always wonderfully appointed with extra shower soaps and exceptionally pressured hot water. I don’t know this for a fact but I think the floors are also heated? There are several trains (Amtrak included) that go by through the night so if you are a very light sleeper I would suggest earplugs for restful sleep. Again, this is a historic building in a town with rich history. If you get a chance to visit the area and you want to experience something special, I can’t recommend Bush House Inn enough. (Book Room 8 for the best morning views!)

Our stay was incredible! This is one of our favorite experiences that we have had. The hotel is absolutely adorable, wonderful staff, great amenities, and just the most lovely weekend stay while we skied at Stevens Pass. We give 5 stars all around! Highly recommend!

Beautiful and cozy Inn! The shared bathroom was not a problem as I was the only one using it as other reviewers pointed out. It was a really nice and clean bathroom. I knew about the train noise and there were a few that went by until 12am and then one at 4am. If the Inn offered a noise machine or earplugs that would go a long way. My room (#2) was also facing the tracks so that didn't help. When I checked in, I was told there would be coffee and pastries available at 8am, but the young lady at the register first told me there were no pastries on Fridays then perhaps because I looked puzzled, she corrected herself to say that she had not yet put them in the oven. Oh well. Nonetheless she made a really tasty latte! I would consider staying here again.

Very clean and cozy room. I stayed in the room with the private bath and big tub. I think I was in room 5 and I could hear the person next to me coughing throughout the night. It was an adjoining room and the sound just pours right in. It was pretty frustrating. Just a warning to my fellow lite sleepers! The staff was great, the food was average. Overall a pretty great stay besides the noise from next door.

Lovely little guesthouse-style inn. We like the communal lounge room and the range of bathrooms. The rooms are cosy with good bedding. Note that the restaurant closes by 6pm on Sundays and the café is not open on Monday, even on long weekends.

So happy I found this place! It’s very quaint! The Inn was very clean and well maintained. Staff is exceptionally friendly, and the coffee shop and restaurant were a great bonus. I would recommend that future patrons check out the Inn’s website to see what type of activities are going on as they do host events. I was not able to take advantage of this and really wish I had!!

The whole Inn was so very clean. We had everything we needed. So nice to have the dining room there to have a bowl of clam chowder and delicious sourdough toast for a light dinner and a great and reasonably priced breakfast the next morning.

Beautifully renovated historical hotel with a super friendly welcome. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. There is some train noise during the night but it didn’t bother us that much (and would have been solved by ear plugs). The coffee and muffins from the bakery downstairs were sublime.
