「My stay at the Shakespeare was short but will be remembered as a really good experience. I felt like a truly valued customer, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was good and the bed was huge!! It was 2 lovely nights sleep, nice hot shower in the morning followed by a cooked breakfast. It really set me up for the day. I would most certainly revisit and can recommend it for a good place to stay in Kendal.」

「It’s hard to comment properly as we arrived late in the dark but even still the staff on the desk were so friendly greeting us, and super helpful and understanding when I realised I’d made a mistake with the booking. It’s lovely and quiet despite being so close to the motorway. Immediately put at ease and reassured that it’s a great place to stay, even if as it is for us just an overnight stopover mid journey. 」

「Lovely room at front of hotel included a balcony with seating to enjoy the view of the high street and front of hotel. Good location for Ullswater in centre of Pooley Bridge. Onsite restaurant had good varied menu and full breakfast options were delicious. Comfortable bed and onsite parking. Staff friendly and very helpful.」

「It was a last minute booking to the lakes and we chose such a lovely hotel to stay with lake view on the top floor with climbing all the steps . Room was very comfy, bathroom clean, breakfast fabulous most importantly the staff were very helpful at all times. 」

「Mainly stayed for Keswick Convention. Walkable distance from Base Camp and Main Tent at Skiddaw Street. It's quiet and near a scenic view from a river nearby. The lawn of the Hotel brings rabbits and relaxing atmosphere to guests. Friendly staff and great self-served breakfast. A good balance of price and service. Will definitely visit again.」

「Staff are absolutely wonderful màking you genuinely feel very welcome. Very knowledgable about the area too. The room was clean comfortable and well decorated as was the rest of the facilities. Loads of local art work on display which is also for sale. Food was awesome and menu choices were varied plus specials on offer daily. Dog friendly too what more could anyone want oh and did I mention the stunning scenery.」

「Stay was short arrived 11pm this time as stayed at this hotel a few times got to say I got a superb deal superior suite large room and bed very comfortable and clean and staff went out there way to make my stay pleasant and relaxed 」
