My recent experience at the Best Western Plus Ft Lauderdale Hollywood Airport Hotel, was extremely disappointing. I had reserved a 2-night stay, but upon returning to my room on the second day Saturday, June 15th, 2024, at about 10:15pm, it was evident that the room had not been cleaned and there were no fresh towels or changed sheets for my kids' bed.
When I called room service, I was informed that there were only two employees working in the entire hotel, as conveyed by the front desk attendant. Despite requesting 4 fresh towels and new bed sheets, I was abruptly told that none were available. The response was not only unhelpful but also delivered in a rude manner, with the attendant bluntly stating, "we can't help you."
Frustrated and unable to settle for such inadequate conditions, especially with children needing proper sleep and hygiene, I went down to the front desk to seek a refund through, and leave to a more credible hotel. Shockingly, I was told refunds were out of the question. It was only after further insistence and escalation to another employee, a woman, that a room change was reluctantly offered.
Considering I was on crutches due to a broken leg, this inconvenience was particularly distressing. The entire ordeal highlighted a severe lack of basic service and empathy expected from a hospitality establishment.
This experience has unequivocally tarnished my perception of Best Western Plus Ft Lauderdale Hollywood Airport Hotel. I will not be returning.
