Absolute gem of a hotel! I honestly couldn’t believe I found a place this good. Incredible location, excellent quality, and such a great price.
My dad is originally from Edinburgh, and we were visiting together, and even he was floored by how good the hotel was given the price, quality, and location. It felt like an absolute find, and I’d happily stay here again. Highly recommend!
Great big room and excellent bathroom with all the amenities you need! Useful luggage storage room if you need to leave your things and explore the city. There are a few steps to go in the hotel, so people with limited mobility or with heavy suitcases might struggle. I believe they were doing works on the property next door so there was a bit of noice, but not enough to bother us. Fantastic location, would stay there again!
People are so nice, helpful and sweet. We had the best time there.
The room was nice, it was lovely to have a bathtub after a day of visiting the city. You have a lot of good restaurant around and it’s very close to the shopping center and to the old city. If we come back to Edinburgh we will come back here.
Luggage storage available for us since we were there early and room was not ready. Manager at desk was friendly too. Location was walkable to Edinburgh Castle as well. Delicious brunch cafe across d street as well
Great location to explore both the old and new town of Edinburgh. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. Very walkable and safe. I'd recommend a room off the main street as it was a little noisy at night. This is not a fancy hotel, but is a good value. Staff were excellent.
The hotel was in a great location just off the main road that takes you down to the Scott Monument and beyond. I had a single room which was perfect for just me. The staff were really kind and polite and helpful also. I would definitely stay here again.
-The Frederick House Hotel was a great place to stay. The location is excellent. So close to many of the sites. The city is walkable but there also buses close by. Lots of shopping and restaurants to eat at in walking distance.
You can buy a 15 pound voucher for a place across the street called Rabble for breakfast. They serve big breakfasts so it's worth the price.
-We loved our room on the 4th floor. Comfortable beds. The room was clean. We really enjoyed the loft and would watch TV there every night.
-The bathroom was clean. My only comments would be that the shower/tub was a bit tricky to get into. Just be careful when getting in and out of it since it's a high walled tub and little bit slippery. There also were no amenities like shower caps or moisturizer. So be sure to bring your own. I also would have preferred a few more hooks to hang the towels. I would have liked to be environmentally friendly but there was only one hook for three people. So I never recycled a towel. But those are small potatoes compared to all the great things.
-The staff was very helpful. Answered all of our questions and gave good advice when we asked.
- My family and I would love to return to Edinburgh and we would stay at the Frederick again.
Had a lovely time at this hotel. It was situated well for shopping and theatre no more than 15 minute walk. Will definitely stay again when in Edinburgh
