I stayed here for one night on 15th April and it was, frankly, one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had.
First, there was no WiFi available, according to the front dest due to a “technical glitch”, something the staff acknowledged but did nothing about. To compound the issue, I was placed in a basement room with zero phone signal, leaving me completely cut off. I was unable to join a critical work call with a client, was not only frustrating but professionally damaging.
The room itself smelled musty and damp, which made the environment feel unclean and uncomfortable. When I raised these issues with staff, they were entirely unhelpful and disinterested, no offer to move rooms or even apologise meaningfully.
To top it off, I discovered the shower was broken the next morning. The head was detached and unusable. I couldn’t even get a proper wash before checking out.
This hotel failed on every basic level: connectivity, cleanliness, functionality, and service. For a chain like Mercure, this is completely unacceptable. I advise others to book elsewhere, especially if you need to work or expect a minimum standard of care and professionalism.
