"We stayed here, in the off season (June), for a few days while we visited Yoho Park. It's about 15 minutes, up Kicking Horse Mountain, from the town of Golden and àbout 35 minutes to the Yoho Visitor centre in Field.
Despite the fact that the building we were in was sold out (Mountaineer Lodge - I'm assuming the Glacier Lodge was the same) it was very quiet around the property.
There are lots of places to go hiking, from right out the front door, as it is a ski resort.
They do have a restaurant and General & Liquor store, but they weren't open for the summer season yet.
The room we had was small but functional, and had a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. It also included some cutlery, plates, bowls and mugs. There was a Keurig machine and a large container of McCafe coffee.
There are two choices for parking: underground (for a fee) or in the huge gravel lot next to the building (free).
The town of Golden has everything you need, with plenty of restaurants and even the Kicking Horse covered pedestrian bridge."
