「Historic home with recent updates. Many nice amenities set this home apart. A pool, hiking trail, swing, multiple firepits, a freezer with ice cream! Our room #4 was very nice and comfortable but the bathroom is a little small. They had a coffee bar with probably 30 different kinds of coffee. 」

So I am guessing that is an individual manager's choice. The breakfast was typical of similar hotels but the selection was good. The room was clean and the building was clean and the staff was friendly. The location is convenient to many fast food options but a drive to downtown Staunton.」

「Several times OJ was out, but we got to watch the crows feast on the overflowing trash can just outside the dining area. Outdoor sofas seemed the attract inconsiderate guests with stinking cigars and trash left behind. I’ve stayed here off and on for almost two years and it seems like things are starting to slip since January.」

「The Valley Extended Suites is a clean, modern hotel that provides good value. Whether for a few days or just overnight, it has what is needed for an enjoyable stay. The only issue we had was with the thermostat on the HVAC system. While the system worked adequately, we had to turn the desired temperature way down (62 degrees) before the room was comfortable enough to sleep. Once we figured that out, it worked fine, but when we set it at the temp we wanted (68/69 degrees), the room was still...

「Actually it was pretty decent. The only thing is when traveling with a service dog you get put in rooms for pets. Often they are not ideal - stained rugs, etc. service dogs are well trained and usually don't have issues. I just wish we could stay in regular rooms. 」
