「It was a lovely place to stay, the host was great, answered all my questions and the place was very clean. A very safe residential neighborhood, the highway is a little bit away, but the ocean is closer and every day you can go out on your balcony/porch and watch the whales and the dolphins.」

「The condo is clean, next to a great swimming and snorkel beach, and has everything you need (pots, dishes, towels etc.). The property itself is old and needs some work, but the condo has been remodeled beautifully. I would recommend a small AC unit for the hot afternoons, but the evenings did cool off nicely. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay here again!」

「Great central local position on a great quiet street. Bit warm downstairs as we couldn’t turn the fan on but have the light off at bedtime for the kids. Close to airport, shopping and places to eat. Place was very spacious. 」

「Guy running the place has knowledge that can make your stay bounce from great to greatest. Yes he has some rules but his place for three days cost me less then one night at Prop 19 in Kona and was a lot better stay. But that side of the island is family more original Hawaiian they are Community oriented. You hear Mahalo and they mean it. 「If you want an experience and not a hotel, this is a good place to consider. Don’t complain if you wanted a Marriott; it’s not the Marriott. The hostess and host are kind and genuine. The lodging is nestled in a neighborhood, but it feels almost like a jungle. The shower is outside and is reasonably private. Don’t mind the geckos lingering nearby as you enjoy fresh fruit for breakfast.」

「The host was very friendly, and shared some great tips for visiting the Hilo area. Check-in/out instructions were helpful and easy to follow. The building itself is a little tired and could use some updating/cleaning. The unit was well equipped and cozy. The beds were not particularly comfortable and overall I would rate the accomodations as 4 star」

「The old Hilo Seaside Hotel on the corner of Kalanianaole Highway and Banyan Drive, across Reed's Bay prime location central to Hilo staples like Ken's and The Ponds Restaurants. The hotel itself consists of buildings with a central tropical courtyard or the swimming pool. Small gym, bikes to borrow, a mediation and common area. The room was clean and cozy. Much effort made in reducing carbon footprint by having the ability to open windows instead of only air conditioning.」

「We were looking for a place to stay one night in Hilo and found Arnott's. The room was small, but had everything we needed, including more outlets than most hotel rooms! We had access to a full kitchen, and the staff were great. 」

「So far was a good hotel for stay in Hilo. The only thing was bad experience, there was fire emergency alarm at 3:00 am to wake up every body and let’s waking down from stairs. Next day was no explaining what happened that night. 」
