Just one look inside the Choj Ha cenote was all I needed to place it in the No. 1 spot in my list of All-Time Favorite Cenotes.

A massive cave full of columns, stalactites and stalagmites, with a beautiful area for swimming and another one for cave diving.

Even though it is located around 30 minutes away from Valladolid, it is a fairly unknown cenote managed by a small mayan community.

Definitely worth the ride if you're looking for a really interesting place off the beaten path.

"This was our third stay at Zentik. This is the best stay in Valladolid. Number 1 restaurant. Charming tropical grounds. Unique heated cave (hot tub but huge). Pool is nice size for a 13 room property. Palapa roofs, unique tropical trees and plants. Both pool and cava are open 24 hours. Food and drink are reasonably priced and gourmet. Adults only. Short taxi to Centro. Staff is caring and attentive. Just the best!"

"This property is a hidden gem! Although this property is small but everything else made up for it. It’s walking distance to shops, cathedral, and more. There’s two entrances to the hotel with parking across the street on the other entrance/ exit- a bit confusing but no big deal. Once you’re inside, you’ll be transported to another world. Such a cute romantic hotel. "
