Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Matial vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
