Pool area was great. Only one option for buffet dinning. Make sure to get there as soon as they open. If you get there late you will have limited options. They do not bring out more food. Lunch buffet by the pool was good.

During our stay, the air coming from the sea/ beach is totally unpleasant (like a rotten egg) due to the seaweeds, so bad that the beach is totally not swimmable , walking outside is not even enjoyable because of the smell. My son just keeps on complaining but what can we do- it’s the natures call! The restaurants was amazing- so if you’re looking for a variety of foods- they have it! Seafoods was really great! Housekeeping was so- so -the whole week we were there the sink mirrors was never been wipe same with the sink! Loyalty membership- they will try to offer you all the good perks ( if you want it- take it! If you don’t- be strong and determined to say No! ) Entertainment every night was superb! The staff are amazing! I will not be going to this month of the year again- seaweeds season!

Tuvimos una estadia lindisima en el hotel Marina el Cid. Lo que mas nos gusto fue la atención del personal. Todos son súper amables, eficientes, serviciales y siempre con una sonrisa. Las instalaciones son muy bien cuidados, con hermosa vegetación, muy limpio y bien ubicado. La comida también muy variada y deliciosa. Queremos volver!!!

The hotel is very nice. Food was ok. But the best restaurant was the hacienda arrecife. I love the fact that they protect the fauna and keep the manglares. The employees were very friendly and place was clean. The only thing was the beach. It has a lot of seaweed and we couldn’t go inside.

Our family had an amazing stay at the property Hotel is super clean, food options are amazing. The only issue we had was seaweed smell which is unfortunately very common during this season in Mexico. We will definitely come back to visit EL Marina for its outstanding customer service.

Nous avons passé une semaine magnifique en famille (2 adultes, 2 ados) au Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort. Le site est superbe, ultra propre, les repas sont excellents (autant le buffet que les restos à la carte), et les spectacles en soirée sont vraiment de qualité. Le gros plus : on peut aller dans trois resorts différents selon l’ambiance recherchée — c’est génial pour varier. Seul bémol : on s’est laissé embarquer dans une présentation soi-disant de 60 minutes pour une « carte privilège » .. qui a duré 3h30. Beaucoup de promesses floues, des frais cachés, et finalement, rien d’avantageux. On aurait préféré profiter du resort! On nous avait promis un « tour gratuit » à Tulum en échange de la présentation — au final, c’était rempli de frais cachés, mal organisé, et ce qu’on nous a vendu comme une excursion s’est avéré être tout sauf un vrai tour… rien de gratuit là-dedans. Bref, à part ce détour inutile, tout a été absolument parfait. On recommande chaudement — en évitant la fameuse "présentation".

Let’s start with the cons: If you’re looking for a “beach” resort, this would not be the one. The poor excuse for a “beach” they have is very small blocked with huge bags and has brown water. Drinks are very miss/lucky if you hit. 8/10 they gave you whatever they saw on a tray, not what you ordered. I only ordered simple drinks, knowing it was all inclusive, ie. margarita, tequila sunrise, paloma. Even sodas/lemonades were wrong or disgusting. Drinks were very weak as well. We had a plumbing issue in our room where sewage overflowed from a drain on the floor. They fixed the issue, but I had to call 3 times for someone to come and disinfect the floor, and when she came, she tried to use a dry cloth, which did absolutely nothing. Check in/check out was the slowest process I have ever seen. And finally, the reservation system for the sit down restaurants was ridiculous. We were there for a week, and was not able to get but one reservation on the last night we were there, all of the restaurants were booked from day 1, and we were not told we needed to book in advance. We had to eat that the buffets our entire trip, which wouldn’t have been our choice. Service was way more miss than hit as well. Pros: family/kid friendly, cool shows, clean room, most of the food was good, they provide mosquito repellent. We aren’t “budget” travelers, but we booked this vacation last minute, so we wanted to save some and the reviews looked great. We won’t be returning, you get what you pay for.

The hotel itself was nice and clean, the food was better than other all inclusive places I’ve stayed in and wasn’t as crowded. The restaurants are spread over 3 hotels, so there’s a bit of walking. You can call a golf cart, but sometimes they’re too busy and take a long time. There was a lot of seaweed when we went, so the beach wasn’t accessible and the smell of it carried to the pool area. I would’ve given them more stars, but we had a reservation error by Expedia and neither the hotel or Expedia were helpful in resolving it, so we ended up paying over $800 extra on an Expedia mistake that would’ve been less than $200 when we originally booked. We weren’t the only ones with issues, so it seems like it’s pretty common for Expedia and the hotel to get the reservations wrong.

This was a decent place to stay with a lot of different dining options and a big property so nothing ever felt crowded. There were a few issues, however, the main problems were the seaweed that choked the shoreline and the resulting, ever present smell.

Beautiful place love the garden ! There is a lot options for eating even make a reservation for really fancy restaurants in the hotel love everything about this place! The beach was no good because of sargasso but that’s Mother Nature so there’s nothing they can do about we have to suck it up with the bad smell !! The golf cars employees some of them are rude I would say like 3 of them are very unprofessional! Rude and mad other than that zero problems!
