「after paying a luxurious price for a luxurious overwater bungalow, we were then informed the resort does not offer room service, even to those who pay 1k+ a night for a luxury experience. nor did we have direct water access from our balcony, and then the public water access ledge didn’t even have a ladder so when the tide is low good luck getting up! the next morning we got up for breakfast and walked to their buffet, just to be told “the room we booked doesn’t include breakfast you can enjoy...

「We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful.」

「The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. It’s a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupo’o photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if you’ve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well. The pension is quite nice, super...

「Pros: Excellent location. The room was very small, but it was clean. Cons: I accidentally left my universal travel adapter/ USB charging cable in the room when I checked out around 10:30 a.m. I realized this around 4 p.m. and returned to the hotel to ask about them. The room had already been cleaned, but no new guest was staying in it yet. Unfortunately, the staff told me they had not found the items, even though I clearly remembered where I had left them. Overall, the location was excellent...
