Top Ashington Hotel Reviews

The Portland Hotel

The Portland Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"I have stayed many times at the Portland over the years and nothing has changed in the welcome during the reception process, staff friendliness, room standard and food choices and quality. This why I keep coming back. Only some 10 minutes by car from the A1 Great North Road the hotel is well placed to explore Northumberland and even Newcastle. Car parking is catered for but a £10 surcharge is billed for overnight parking. That said, heading to Newcastle doesn't even need to involve taking the car. Ashington where the Portland is situated, is well served by public transport. Especially if you prefer to take the train. In the establishment, You can sit in a very well designed bar/restaurant and enjoy a fine selection of beverages from the well stocked bar. On fine days there's a beer garden/ social area for alfresco drinks, food or just socialising. All in all a great place to stay"
