Hotel Marcel New Haven, Tapestry Collection By Hilton
10/10 Excellent
"I had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would absolutely give it five stars. This was a last-minute decision for us, but it turned out to be an amazing choice. The room was very comfortable and felt warm and cozy, making it easy to relax right away.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive, making the check-in process smooth and stress-free. The room was spotless, well-designed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The location was also perfect—convenient to nearby attractions while still feeling quiet and safe. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable experience."
"The room was not cleaned at all. We found a papa John’s pizza in the drawer and there was dog food on the floor (clearly from previous guests). We also found flowers and small sticks from outside on the floor. Very obvious that all was done was making our beds prior to our arrival. We asked for our sheets to get changed but housekeeping leaves at 11am. My son got sick from the breakfast that was offered and got some type of stomach bug since he was throwing up for the past 48hrs since we fed him the breakfast. The staff were polite & nice but overall the stay was horrible and I couldn’t wait to get home. The parking lot had loads of pot holes and there were beer bottles and trash thrown in the grass near the parking lot. Lastly they have a sign that says the door on the side is always locked and you require your key card to get in. It is not. It was wide open for anyone to enter so the premises is not safe. Never again. "
"Rooms were ok, place seems outdated needs a good update. The room was not very updated, was clean so I'll give them that. Breakfast was not included, so have to pay additional for that. It was ok, typical hotel breakfast, so overpriced in my opinion since they could've just added it to the room pricing and had just included breakfast in general.
Staff was friendly, and helpful though. Went mostly for the interest in the pool. Kids had fun it is small, but it was a good time because not too many people."
"The hotel is very clean, in fact to the extreme. All I could smell were strong cleaning chemicals in the lobby and in the room. It caused an asthmatic reaction in me and headaches in my companion. I covered the pillows with my own pillow cases that I always bring, but the smell all over was unbearable to my lungs. Chemicals used in the cleaning/laundry are very harsh. I could not stay here again. The Roku also wasn’t working correctly, but that wasn’t worth contacting the front desk. Breakfast in the lobby was a bonus. I did also really appreciate the code instead of a key for the entry into the room. The chemical smell was my only issue. Otherwise nice place."
"I booked a room because it was meant to be a specific room and when we arrived it was not available. The entire reason for booking
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE"
"This hotel has tried to charge me 176.00$ and change on two different stays for a no show one on a day before I came and one on the day after I stayed the night. There was no sheets or blankets for the pull out bed the hot tub also hasn’t been working in forever and still they advertise it online and over the phone. My security deposit wasn’t released until two months later the first time and I’m still waiting for last trips deposit I’m so overwhelmed"
