Just half an hour outside of Dublin and set in the midst of a 1,500 acre estate in the Boyne Valley is the beautiful Slane Castle. Roganstown Hotel & Country Club

Roganstown Hotel & Country Club

8/10 Good
"Check-in was easy. Staff was friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a nice view. Breakfast, off-menu for hot items, was very good including coffee. Staff was friendly. Only drawbacks were minor. We couldn't get the remote to work, but didn't really care. My towel was obviously new and had not been washed prior to use. And the bathroom light, already on when we checked in, would not turn off. The night manager determined the bath was missing the pull string required for shut off so we just slept with the door closed. Great location when flying out of Dublin airport too."

"We appreciated having ample parking. It seemed like a relatively new hotel and so was surprised that there was no elevator. The front desk gal offered to help carry our luggage up the stairs though. The room had enough space. All other hotels in our 4 weeks of travel had nice hand wash, shower wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion dispensers. The hotel dispensers here looked like what you would find in a gas station bathroom and there was only a hand soap and a body wash/shampoo combination in the shower. The breakfast staff were absolutely lovely and besides the cold buffet, you could have a made to order breakfast. The lobby and restaurant seemed busy but we were not bothered by any noise. Overall a good stay."
