"It's an older property but very clean and well-maintained. All the staff are friendly and food was great. The onsen was the hottest one we had during this trip to the Nagano area (3 different hotels). Our room faces the river so if you open the window, you can hear the river and mini waterfall. We saw the most amazing sunset at the bridge right in front of the hotel. Hotel is also conveniently located within 15 minutes from the Snow Monkey park, which makes it easy for us to beat the tours by arriving early."

"Super helpful staff and they speak English. The customer service was excellent with thorough explanations of the facilities, the meals and the van service to see the snow monkeys the next day (free van service) Great meals (plenty of great food) and the baths were amazing (onsen). You can book the indoors baths twice in a day (heaven!) and I had a private onsen in my room as well. Even when the weather was super cold and rainy, I was able to enjoy and recover from my long trip. I was not able to get out and walk around the property at night since it was very cold outside. Would definitely love to return! "

Best hotel near snow monkey river

"The staff was amazing. Very friendly and professional. I especially like the fact that they picked us up from our bus stop and took us to Snow monkey River. Thereafter, we called them, and they picked us up and took us to the hotel. The private onsen was amazing. I enjoyed it. The 13 course meal was exceptional and tasty This is a must place hotel to be at because they make the whole transition from the bus stop to their place very easy. There is a couple that runs the place and they are helpful, professional, and beautiful!!!"

"We were hoping to stay in a traditional ryokan with access to an onsen and Seifuso did not disappoint. The room was beautiful and the mattresses were set up when we arrived (we travelled late and arrived after 8). One of the owners drove us to the monkey park and pointed out the bus stop to get back which was seamless. Highly recommend this property for a stay! Wish we had been able to avail of their meals which looked delicious. If we're back in Yudanaka, I'd definitely stay here again."

"Really enjoyed my 6-night stay here. It really is a traditional Japanese hotel and experience and loved the friendly and helpful staff, and the location is just a short 10 min scenic stroll across the river to the bus/train station. Didnt know what to expect but the Japanese style tatami rooms were cosy and comfy, and the outdoor onsen was just what was needed after a day on the ski slopes. The half-board option is a must if you love Japanese food and each night was like a little banquet with an array of different and fresh local dishes, and was great value. Not a 5-star hotel by any means if thats your thing, but all in all a great stay and good location and Yudanaka is quaint little village at the foot of the Alps, that is worth a wander around, as Shibuya Onsen and Snow Monkeys are closeby. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu"

"I had the fortune of having a magical hot spring experience in snow. The main pool is breathtakingly beautiful, especially on a snowing night. Really kind staff and great food. One pro tip is that they have a small shuttle to the train station (which we didn't know until after we left) and also delivers bags to a cafe in front of the station."
