"If you want an old old style, real Japanese experience with a lovely tatanmi room with easy access to central Kyoto, then it's great. We loved it. Very little English spoken (not a problem for us), and could be difficult to find if you don't arrive by taxi, but we really enjoyed our stay."

"This was a great base for visiting Kyoto, near the station and easy to find. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfasts were delicious and had lots of choice. Not all the front desk staff spoke English, but they were friendly and helpful, and we got sorted everything out, including sending our luggage back to Tokyo successfully."

"The place was great. Best thing was the staff. They were so nice and accommodating. I was late for my check in but the staff helped me by waiting to still serve me dinner when I got there. They were waiting out front for me and helped me out all with everything. They were the nicest people. The facilities were great too. Food was delicious. The room was lovely. The onsen was relaxing.
